Hiring in Spring 2026

Licensed Telehealth Therapists in Washington State

This position starts part time with the expectation to progress into full time (minimum 25 weekly sessions) as you build your caseload.

Why Work With Us

Trans and queer people deserve more than acceptance. We deserve care that affirms and celebrates our full humanity, recognizing identity as a source of strength rather than a pathology. Femme & Them is a queer- and trans-led practice where affirming therapy means more than words: it means practicing intersectional, trauma-informed care that addresses the realities of race, culture, gender, sexuality, and neurodiversity.

We’re building more than a practice — we’re building a movement toward sustainable, affirming mental health care led by queer and trans clinicians. Our intention is to grow a team of therapists who see themselves not only as providers, but as long-term leadership members helping shape the future of affirming therapy in Washington State. While we can’t promise where every path will lead, our goal is to invest in your growth, create opportunities for leadership, and cultivate a community where both clients and clinicians can thrive together.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a clinician who is not only passionate about providing affirming care, but also excited to grow with a practice that invests deeply in its team. Femme & Them is building a long-term, queer- and trans-led organization. e’re seeking someone who envisions becoming part of that journey, potentially as a long-term leadership member helping shape the future of affirming mental health care in Washington State.

While there are no promises of advancement, our intention is to nurture leadership, creativity, and sustainability for every clinician who joins us.

The Communities You’ll Support

Our practice centers communities who are often underserved. We are specifically looking for someone who is prepared to work with:

  • Transmasculine and nonbinary teens and adults across the lifespan

  • ADHD, Autistic, and AuDHD clients who deserve to be understood, not “fixed”

  • Trauma survivors reclaiming their narratives

  • Insurance clients who may otherwise struggle to find affirming care in-network

Meet your Supervisor

I’m Cappy Shapiro (they/them), a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and co-founder of Femme & Them, PLLC.

My Approach to Supervision

In supervision, I show up the same way I do in therapy: grounded, curious, and collaborative. I see supervision as a shared exploration; a space to connect theory with lived experience, and to support your growth as a clinician and a human.

My approach is relational and reflective, with an emphasis on helping you find your own authentic voice. We might explore countertransference, attachment dynamics, or somatic cues in session; always with compassion and respect for your process. I value independence and creativity, and I love working with supervisees who are curious about integrative, affirming therapy for queer, trans, and neurodivergent communities.

At the heart of it, I believe good therapy, and good supervision, helps us feel aligned within ourselves and allows for expansion and connection.

About Cappy

Outside of therapy, I love spending time outdoors with my kids and tending to small land projects. I was diagnosed with ADHD/ADD in my 30s, which has explained a lot about how I navigate the world. In recent years I have taken an unexpected interest in paranormal—ufology, cryptozoology, and aliens. I also love playing laser tag and reading about my special interests du jour.

The best things in my life are forests, endless curiosity, learning, working with my clients, and my family.
